It’s been a while since I posted here but not because of inaction. Busily going about my way developing websites, I haven’t committed as much time to the Wealthy Affiliate Bootcamp. Having said that, I have been chipping away at it and I have to say that I am very happy with the way my website’s are coming along thanks to Wealthy Affiliate. I can see where it is all heading and understand that the Bootcamp is all about building, site health and trust.
Time To Get Some Love!
Social media and engagement is massive these days. Facebook may have had a bit of a bad wrap over the last year but it is still an effective tool to grow your business and so are the other platforms. Up until this part of the bootcamp, social media engagement is limited because content on your site is minimal. Plus, if you are really new to internet marketing then your knowledge on how to add these share buttons so that they work is probably limited.
As always, Wealthy Affiliate provides all of the information that is needed to continue to build out your website. Not being terribly techy myself, I follow the steps to the letter and implement each of the suggested steps as I work through the modules. Before this stage, the website is still looking a bit bare and missing an element which is constant in profitable websites online – social shares. Social Media shares are crucial for driving more traffic to your website, building your list and ultimately sales – plus, it’s always nice to feel the love when someone shares your post!
Wealthy Affiliate recommend plugins to install to your website that instantly add in the share buttons. So good! This used to be a major technical battle and one that I have been known to lose.
While learning, it’s probably best to stick with the tried and true from the experts at Wealthy Affiliate but it is okay to play around a little provided you still get the desired end result. Functional social share buttons.
For me personally, I didn’t like that the plugin that I installed as it showed on all of my pages – including the ‘About Me’ page. There is probably nothing wrong with having share buttons on that page but to me, it felt a little weird. So, that is why I reached out to the Wealthy Affiliate Community to see how to go about changing it. Further on that below.
This High’s and Lows of It!
As part of developing my niche and website, my research led me to a number of websites that are well developed and obviously making a tonne of money for their owners. That was pretty depressing and to be honest a bit de-motivating. I have kept building my website but looking at theirs and looking at mine highlighted the amount of work still to be done. It kind of feels like pulling up beside the latest Jag in my 1930’s dented Mini with faded paint!
This is when it’s really important to just get over yourself. Remember that those sites once looked like yours and were young once too!
Stick to your plan. Take steady action daily and take a breather every now and then to get some perspective.
The High – Feeling loved!
This morning, I was working on my website and there are a few things that I don’t like about it since installing some plugins. So, I posted in the Wealthy Affiliate module and within 15 minutes of my question some very helpful members responded with excellent comments and a fix to my issue.
It is such a good feeling to know that there are such helpful, responsive, like minded people in the Members area. Given that I am a person that likes to have things done sooner rather than later, it is so refreshing to be part of a community that actually cares about your success and wants to help. None of this waiting a couple of days for a response if you get one at all. I know that this sounds gushy but I am so impressed by the Wealthy Affiliate Community and grateful that they are there.
